Nasheed, the favourite of Delhi reporters!

Following is an extract from a column written on www.business-standard.com by Aditi Phadnis (pic).

“The new President of Maldives made all the right noises during his recent India visit. Of all South Asian politicians, the favourite of Delhi reporters has to be the youthful new president of the Maldives, Mohamed Nasheed, who was in Delhi from December 23 to 26 on his first state visit.
As he walked — actually, bounded — into the room where journalists had congregated, it was hellos and high-fives all round. Some were embraced by him, others got pecks on their cheeks. He knew most of them by their first names. It was genuine, deeply-felt warmth that enveloped the gathering, not the practiced PR that politicians and bureaucrats from some of India’s other neighbours are so adept at.”

  3. Omitting the part of president Nasheedh drinking wine and then asking Laila to wear veil, Bushry is proving himself that he is the biggest hypocrite.
What he is saying is its ok for a man to do as he wish and not a woman..its only women who have to follow the Quran and Sunnah!!!!!!

  5. 180 km northeast of Mumbai, Nashik is India’s largest grape-growing region, but had traditionally never been used to grow wine grapes. A little research quickly showed that the Nashik climate was not only perfect for wine grapes, but was also on par with winegrowing regions in Spain, California, and Australia. Rajeevs determination doubled, he returned to California in search of a winemaker. In Sonoma County he found Kerry Damskey, an eminent Californian winemaker, who enthusiastically agre

In 1997, the duo took the revolutionary step of planting French Sauvignon Blanc and Californian Chenin Blanc, varieties that had never before been planted in India. The first Ssula wines released in 2000, were widely acclaimed as Indias best white wines.

Rajeev Samant is new India’s entrepreneurial shining star. Or sun, rather, given the widespread international recognition the Sula Vineyards’ solar logo has gotten. At the peak of his career as one of the youngest finance managers of software giant Oracle in San Francisco, this Stanford graduate quit his job and returned home to India with the seemingly crazy idea of growing grapes and making wine.

    Kerry Damskey

Kerry’s winemaking philosophy is simple and straightforward: it takes great grapes to make great wine.

“It’s the winemaker’s job to articulate a definable style for a wine but you don’t create an identity – that comes from the grapes, and the grapes’ identity is directly linked to where and how they are grown,” he explains.

A chance meeting with Rajeev Samant - a young, energetic Indian entrepreneur who had the crazy idea of setting up a winery in India - piqued Kerry’s interest.

  8. Is Anni out of his mind? Drinking alcohol during the recent trip to India is really naive stupid and only showed his foolishness.

Stop playing the devils advocate, Anni, you are not in your teens or a university student having a night out in India.

For God sake you are the president of the country, doesn’t your frigging mind understands the role of religion in our daily social and political life.

If proven you should be given a suspended sentence and fined.
